Cutting Glass

If you plan to cut glass, be cautious.  Make sure you handle it carefully so you don’t cut your hands.  We recommend eye protection.  Then determine your measurements.  Lay down some towels and clean the glass fully before setting it down.  Use a tape measure and Sharpie to mark your glass.  Use a glass cutter to weaken the glass.  Cut all the way across.  Use the handle of the cutter to tap the glass to weaken it more.  Then press on one side to separate the cut in a shearing motion.  Clean up your work area completely so no broken glass remains.  As you can see, this process is involved and we recommend going to a professional frame shop to get your glass cut.
